Dusek's continues to garner critical acclaim, as Chicago Magazine's Jeff Ruby weighs in and is throughly impressed by nearly everything, even saying the restaurant is better than the Longman & Eagle team's signature Logan Square spot. He says the "terrific" amuse bouches are "just a preamble" to the "grand declaration" entrees, including a "sweet-salty" matsutake mushroom risotto and the Gulf prawns where he "lost all control" of his manners while sucking on shells.
Ruby is also a fan of the "impressive roster of obscure craft beers" and says the "well-trained staff courses out meals perfectly." He sums up the experience by saying "the whole enterprise's easy confidence, which masks exciting ambitions, aims less for cool than satisfying."
