The Signature Room Previews James Beard Dinner; Red Door Slurp & Slush Dinner; more

STREETERVILLE—The Signature Room at the 95th will host a preview of their upcoming James Beard Dinner on Sunday, September 22. Executive Chef Rosalia Barron will offer four items during the reception (including geoduck clam, braised pork empanada) and five courses (pink snapper, rack of lamb, chocolate banana coulant, more). WEST TOWN—Oyster lovers prepare to be dazzled at Red Door's upcoming Slurp and Slush: An Oyster Shuck Off on Sunday, September 15. Red Door's Troy Graves, along with John Manion (La Sirena Clandestina), Jared Van Camp (Nellcôte & Old Town Social), and Brian Jupiter (Frontier) will shuck and prepare fresh Old 1871 oysters (found in Virginia's Chesapeake Bay). Each chef will prepare an oyster dish (there will also be passed hors d'oeuvres and oysters on the half shell) and Red Door's Jay Schroeder will be making cocktail slushes. The event is from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tickets are $40 and are available at the door or you can call 773-697-7221 to get them in advance. [EW]

WEST LOOP—Tomorrow, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m., Little Goat will host a Bourdeaux flight with Tenzing Wine & Spirits. No tickets or RSVPs are needed, just walk on up to the rooftop to enjoy an afternoon of wine. [EW]

RIVER WEST—Paramount Room will debut their bike repair station on Tuesday, September 10 at 6 p.m. The event coincides with their inaugural "Bike Meet-Up Night", a monthly event that will have a craft beer sponsor, area bike organizations offering simple fixes and demos, along with a full menu.
