Rich Labriola Planning Two Michigan Avenue Restaurants

After selling the majority stake in his baking company Labriola Baking in June, Rich Labriola is remaking himself as a restaurateur. His plans for opening a Wicker Park outpost of L.A.'s Stan's Donuts already publicized, Labriola has finalized leases for two restaurants on Michigan Avenue, Chicago Real Estate Daily reports.

One unnamed restaurant will be a pizzeria and bar at 151 N. Michigan, just off Millennium Park. The second, at 535 N. Michigan, will be another Labriola Cafe location. The original in Oak Brook was not part of his sale.

Labriola is obviously not scared of competition. While Stan's Donuts will open across Damen Avenue from the original Glazed & Infused window, his Michigan Avenue restaurants will be within shouting distance of plenty of new eateries in an area that's increasingly becoming a dining destination.
