Although he's still scouting locations, Dirk Flanigan's upcoming solo project has a name—Il Coniglio. Meaning "rabbit" in Italian, it stems from a nickname he gave his wife's cat and then his daughters.
When finally open, Flanigan will be cooking French-Italian dishes there. He's previewing the restaurant at a private 12-person candlelit wine-paired pop-up—even rolling out a pizza oven—tomorrow night on the great lawn in Millennium Park after Chicago Gourmet ends.
The event is up for auction now. If you can afford the $1500 opening bid, or just want an idea of what's to come when Il Coniglio opens, check out the menu below.
