New, 1 comment

RIVER NORTH—The Grid expansion soft opens Friday in the Baume & Brix space upstairs with a menu designed by Dirk Flanigan. Both spaces are now married with a common entrance and similar decor; additions include a wood-burning pizza oven, burgers, and a build-your-own sandwich category. [Dish]

WICKER PARK—Runa Japanese opens tomorrow in a North Avenue space that has seen many a tenant. Expect sushi, dim sum, noodles, chicken feet, and a private outdoor patio; it will be BYO in the beginning. [WPBIG]

WEST ROGERS PARK—A new Korean barbecue spot is now open on the Far North Side. Gogi held its grand opening over the weekend at 6240 N. California and Steve Dolinsky already calls it "My Favorite New Korean BBQ in Chicago." [EaterWire]

CHINATOWN—With the previous two openings being Japanese and Korean, why not add in a Thai opening? Sala Bua is bringing a taste of "true Bangkok style Thai cuisine" to Chinatown, now open at 2002 S. Wentworth. [Facebook]
