Another Barbeque Spot Coming, Filling Cafe 28 Space

New, 2 comments

The crowded barbeque scene is getting another entry soon. Ravenswood Q, from local BBQ veteran Larry Tucker and owner Dean Grozdich, is under construction in the shuttered Cafe 28 space. Cafe 28 closed in February after a 17-year run, resulting in many long faces.

Grozdich tells Patch that his barbeque spot will be upscale. He and Tucker will attempt to set theirs apart from an already-saturated scene, with recent high-profile openings (Bub City, County Barbeque, Smalls, Sweet Baby Ray's), upcoming (Green City Smoked Meats, Old Crow) and existing (Smoque, Lillie's Q, Smoke Daddy).

One way to set it apart is with an old face, Tucker, who ran N.N. Smokehouse down the street until 2001. There's no word yet on when to expect the opening.
