SOUTH LOOP—Things are not looking good for City Tavern owner Matthew O'Malley. The building has been hit with a foreclosure suit for a sum of $3.9 million. This isn't the first suit against O'Malley, as there's others against Chicago Firehouse and Park Grill, which he also owns. City Tavern has also endured plenty of staffing and menu changes. [CRED]
GOLD COAST—Former Trenchermen co-chef/owner Mike Sheerin offered a sneak peak inside his new project today, only it doesn't say where exactly it is. [Twitter]
WEST TOWN—Tickets are on sale for the Seven Seas Charity Fest, taking place August 25 at Frontier. Bill Kim, Charlie McKenna, Brian Jupiter, and more chefs will cook up seafood tasting menus in addition to craft cocktails and an umlimited raw bar. Admission runs $55; a free oyster-shucking contest is after. [EaterWire]
LINCOLN PARK—Head to the Chicago History Museum on August 11 between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. for the first annual Chicago Hot Dog Fest. They'll serve eight types of hot dogs, have live music, games, a cash bar, and the authors of Man Bites Dog will speak. [EaterWire]
