LINCOLN PARK—One of the shuttered Caribou Coffee locations has a new beginning, although it's another coffee shop. Fuel Station, from the owner of neighboring Basil Leaf Cafe, opened today at 2453 N. Clark. [EaterWire]

WEST TOWN—A little more of the Chicago Taco story has come to light. Co-owner Susan Goss tells Phil Vettel that "after we crunched the numbers, realized it wasn't going to work in that space, so we shut it down." She also says West Town Tavern closed because "there wasn't enough money coming in." [Tribune]

GOLD COAST—Tony Mantuano is crossing the first item off Spiaggia's "30 Before 30" bucket list. Ferragosto, named for the traditional Italian summer beach party, will feature a salmon bake, negroni slushies, Peroni, and more at Oak Street Beach on August 15. Tickets cost $65. [EaterWire]

LINCOLN PARK—Stephanie Izard will be at Crate & Barrel at North and Clybourn tomorrow between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. signing copies of her book Girl In The Kitchen. [EaterWire]
