Construction is underway inside the former Tuscany Cafe space on Wacker for a restaurant that ownership hopes will resonate with local clientele. Terrace on Clark, from Square One co-owner Valeriy Kosenko, will be a two-part concept: one part cafeteria-style breakfast and lunch, one part upscale bar and grill. Ownership is aiming to open in two months.
The bar and grill section will unsurprisingly serve traditional bar and grill fare: burgers, steaks, sandwiches, and fish at $12-20 entree price points. Drink selections include 10 draft lines, craft beer, wine, and signature cocktails. Expect quick-serve breakfast, lunch, coffee and smoothies on the cafeteria side.
The buildout will include a private dining area, elevated rows of L-shaped booths and banquets, and a side patio.
While Tuscany Cafe shuttered in June, the Terrace on Clark team feels the cafeteria side will be perfect for United Building residents and the bar and grill will resonate with tourists, business folk, and hotel guests when it opens in two months.
