Storefront Company Unveils Tasting Menu; West Town Bakery's New Sandwiches; More

WICKER PARK—Storefront Company has extended their Kitchen Counter tasting menu to the entire restaurant. The new six course menu format will rotate monthly and is priced at $89, with wine pairings an additional $55. The August menu includes turbot, razor clam, poussin, axis deer (apparently a type of deer commonly found in Asia), canarejal, and eggplant. RIVER NORTH—West Town Bakery's Chris Curren has unveiled eight new sandwiches (four hot, four cold) to the location inside the ACME Hotel Company at 15 East Ohio Street. Curren (Homestead On the Roof, The Berkshire Room) sticks to the icons of American sandwiches (Ham & Swiss, French Toast PB&J, Smoked Chicken Salad). The sandwiches are available from 10 a.m. until closing seven days a week, and are available for dine-in or carry out. [EaterWire]

WEST LOOP—Blackbird pastry chef Dana Cree has launched a limited batch series of ice cream sold at Publican Quality Meats. A call to the location confirms that they currently have strawberry-bubblegum, raspberry sherbet and nectarine whiskey pecan. Each of the pints has a "Hello My Name Is?" sticker, a number (the batches are churned in groups of twelve) and Cree's signature. The price per pint is $6. [Daily Candy]

WICKER PARK—Takito Kitchen has announced a brunch menu available Friday through Sunday from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Executive chef/partner David Dworshak created the menu, which features Spanish ham and eggs, polenta, veggies and eggs, as well as three different sopes (chicken pepian, pork belly, and vegetable).
