When Leopold shuttered in March, word was that new first-time owners were already working on a new project. That project is coming into focus—as well as the owners—Joe and Megan Krouse. The Krouses are hoping to open Unite Urban Grill October 1, with former Pump Room chef Bradford Phillips along for the ride.
Unite Urban Grill stems from uniting the Krouses love of opposite foods—Joe's carnivorous taste and Megan's vegetables and grains. Phillips is charged with turning the concept into a menu focusing on accessibility and grilled items. Phillips left Pump Room to work on Nicole Quaisser's LM projects, opening Brasserie by LM and Brasserie 54 by LM. Brasserie 54 shuttered last month, and Phillips has latched on to this new project.
Unite will have a dining room inside as well as an "open-air lounge" and patio outside. Leopold held 98 seats, expect a similar occupancy at Unite. It will be open for dinner Tuesdays through Sundays and for Sunday brunch. Stay tuned for more details as construction progresses.
