If you've been thinking about getting into the food truck game in Chicago, Crain's breaks down the costs you'll face. Local food truck owners discuss everything from how much they spent on the actual truck (anywhere from $4,500 to around $36,290), to the insurance, licenses, restaurant equipment, kitchen space and other build out (electrical, plumbing). Salsa Truck owner Dan Salls says, "If you're really, really handy, and you know where to find all of this stuff and you're very good at having friends help you . . . you could have a food truck for $25,000 to $30,000." But he adds that "most people aren't going to come in a penny under $60,000." [Crain's]
