Red Door Hosts Benefit on Monday To Aid Hospitalized Industry Worker

Bucktown's Red Door and UN86'd, a charity aiding restaurant workers in need, will join together Monday, July 8 (4-9 p.m.) to host a benefit for Michael Davis. Davis, who does not have insurance, was attacked by two men in Rogers Park and has been hospitalized since June 17.

The benefit will feature several of the city's best chefs—Michael Gottlieb (Bistro Bordeaux), Chris Curren (Homestead), Dave Ford (The Bluebird), Adam Wendt (Bangers & Lace) and Cosmo Goss (Publican Quality Meats)—will go head-to-head in a hot dog competition. Red Door's Troy Graves will make the condiments.

There will also be plenty of booze on hand, courtesy of Olmeca Altos Tequila, Rhum Clement, St-Germain, Pabst Blue Ribbon and gourmet Jell-O shots from Big Star bartender Annemarie Sagoi. A $20 donation will get you three tickets for hot dogs, punch or PBR. Jell-O shots are $2, additional hotdogs, punch or PBR are $3. All of the proceeds earned will go to help Davis in his recovery.
