Suburbanites know Standard Market and Standard Market Grill for its specialty food market and cafe. City-dwellers will know Standard Market Grill solely as a restaurant. The upcoming Standard Market Grill, first mentioned in May, will be a casual eatery with ingredients sourced from the Westmont location.

Open daily for lunch, dinner, and weekend breakfast, chef Brian Wright will be charged with turning those ingredients into a large American menu filled with hot and cold sandwiches, burgers, pizzas, protein-driven entrees, salads, soups, and finger foods. The new location's menu is almost a carbon copy of Westmont's.

The beverage program is also similar, with 16 local craft beers on tap, globally-sourced wines, seasonal cocktails, a fruit-infused water bar, Stumptown coffee, and hand-dipped milkshakes.

The 5,000 square-foot space, situated above a strip of shops and other restaurants, might seem like a prime location but has seen some turnover. Zapatista was the most recent concept to give the location a shot, shuttering in October after 21 months.

Standard Market Grill hopes to stay much longer when they open in early-to-mid-August.
