Hutch Opens Tonight, What's on the Menu?

For a new restaurant, Hutch is attempting to set a tone rich with classic American comforts. Chef/owner Marc Wuenschel took over the former Socca space, keeping staff on board, tweaking it just enough to give Lakeview residents and Wrigleyville revelers a respite from the glut of sports bar concepts just north on Clark Street yet familiar enough to try to draw some of those crowds.

Wuenschel's opening menus aren't reinventing the wheel, full of traditional American comfort foods placed in traditional menu compartments. The "Hutch Favorites" section reads like entrees, with steaks, fishes, ribs, a veggie option, and a grilled bacon-wrapped meatloaf. Apps, sandwiches, flatbreads, soups and salads fill the rest out.

The booze menu features five "martinis" and six "craft cocktails," including the signature "Hutch" cocktail: rye with an apple cider ice cube and a bacon brown sugar rim. For wine, there's a few white, red, and sparkling glass pour options, many of which are West Coast. Beer is all domestic, mostly craft, in draft, can, and bottle form.

They open tonight for dinner at 5 p.m. and brunch service is expected to launch next month. Read over the full menus below.
