RIVER NORTH—What's next for Thomas Elliot Bowman after he finishes up his time at Baume & Brix on Saturday? He's been working on a distillery, Scissortail. Starting with vodka, the liquor will be available locally in October. [Tribune]

GOLD COAST—Hash House A Go Go is celebrating its first anniversary with a dollar menu, "Beers, Biscuits & Sweet Bites." Available until July 28, it features PBR cans, housemade biscuits, and a mini version of their parfait for a buck each. [EaterWire]
