Even one of the most vaunted restaurant groups in Chicago, the Boka Restaurant Group, got its start in a greasy spoon. Co-partner Kevin Boehm says he held his first meeting with co-partner Rob Katz at Nookies on Wells and has held many meeting there since. Although Boehm says he has "sorta kicked the greasy diner habit," he was a regular at there until two years ago. Katz has been a Nookies on Wells customer for 20 years. [EaterWire]
