After a successful reopening of Homestead a few weeks ago, the Fifty/50 restaurant group is at it again. On Friday they will open The Berkshire Room, a craft cocktail lounge inside the ACME hotel with Benjamin Schiller at the helm. The lounge is a throwback to cocktail bars of yesteryear where the focus was on the guest and providing top-notch service. Of course it's all done with a modern twist.
Schiller's cocktails are divided into three categories—cocktails, barrel finished cocktails and dealers choice—which all offer creative takes on the standard cocktail. Dealer's choice follows the "choose your own adventure" route allowing you to pick your liquor of choice, favorite flavor profile and even stemware. Barrel finished cocktails will alter over time as the barrel continues to be filled with various spirits.
Chris Curren has created a complementary menu of snacks including a Ploughman's lunch with meats from PQM and cheeses from Pastoral; "cracker jacks" made with caramel popcorn, pork rinds, wasabi peas, honey-glazed almonds and spicy peanuts; and a bison tartare.
Take a look at the cocktail and snack menus below and scope out the pictures above.
