Kickstarter Campaign Funding Many Parts of The Radler and D.A.S.

19th century advertisement mural inside The Radler

Although Nate Sears and Adam Hebert found a location for their twin Bavarian projects The Radler and D.A.S. months ago, interior construction hasn't commenced. In addition to permits, the pair also hopes to source funds from a Kickstarter campaign to fund many facets of the space, on that neighborhood-changing stretch of Milwaukee Avenue, as well as parts of the food and beverage programs. They need to raise an additional $7000 before it ends Sunday morning at 5:00.

A skeletal brick and plywood structure exists now (it was a vacant lot), with a temporary table in one corner covered with blueprints. On the south wall is a large mural advertisement for Bohemian Brewery that Sears and Hebert say dates back to the 1880's. Part of the funds will go towards preserving that ad.

Other projects they're looking to fund include commissioning local artists and sculptors, equipping their barrel-aged beer program, and sourcing produce. Cafe Mustache and the Pierogi Wagon are also using Kickstarter.

Sears and Hebert have included many perks in exchange for donations, such as dinners, classes, merchandise, and your name on a mural. They say construction will last approximately three months after the program ends and the city gives them the go-ahead.
