More Fake Cronuts

cronut-fakers-3.jpgThe local pastry scene is seeing a dramatic rise in fake cronuts in just the past couple days. Since Friday, three new varieties have joined the fray: La Boulangerie in Logan Square mentioned the sale of croissant-beignet hybrids on Friday morning, both West Town Bakery locations (West Town and the brand-new spot in Acme hotel) announced Friday afternoon that they would be selling "doughssants." And it appears that Glazed & Infused starting selling cronuts over the weekend, as Chicagoist first noted. How many more will come? [EaterWire/Chicagoist]
