Eataly Shooting For Mid-November Opening; Lobster Bash Tickets Tomorrow; More

RIVER NORTH—Eataly updates have been few and far between in recent months, but there's finally a targeted opening date to report. According to a tweet from Mario Batali himself today, the Chicago location is opening in mid-November and Batali is excited. An Eataly rep says that's not 100 percent confirmed. Stay tuned. LITTLE ITALY—Tickets for this year's Rockin' Lobster Bash go on sale tomorrow via Groupon. The second annual event will feature grub cooked by Giuseppe Tentori, Paul Virant, Thai Dang, and more at Three Aces on July 15. [EaterWire]

UPTOWN—Still waiting for that full-fledged Ice3 (Ice Cubed) storefront to open? Well, you're going to have to wait a little longer. They're stuck in permit limbo that limits them to popups at 1509 W. Lawrence and a truck. To refresh your memory, they sell adult-themed frozen desserts, including the prix fixe—a five-course meal in an ice pop. [Chicago Grid]

MAGNIFICENT MILE—There's a new man in charge of sweets at the Peninsula Hotel. Dimitri Fayard (Vanille Pâtisserie) is now the pastry chef for The Lobby, Shanghai Terrace, Pierrot Gourmet, and room service. [Dish]
