One Tuscany Cafe, Fiorenza, Curried Shuttered

New, 1 comment

LOOP—The Tuscany Cafe on 77 West Wacker closed for good last week. A Phil Stefani Restaurants representative cites the fickle business clientele in the area for the decision. There are five Tuscany locations left (Taylor Street, Wheeling, Oak Brook, and both airports) in addition to the rest of the restaurants in the Stefani empire. [EaterWire]

FOREST PARK—Another Italian restaurant in the area is closed for a much different reason. Fiorenza Ristorante at 7404 Madison has been evicted by the Cook County Sheriff, reportedly for owing $17,922 in back rent. Owner Bill Pierson hopes to pay the sum and reopen. [Patch/Forest Park Review]

LOOP—Indian super-fast casual spot (they claimed to serve in 60 seconds or less) Curried (171 N. Wells) has served its last curry wrap. Its Facebook page cites "very critical financial challenges" and they've "put up the location for sale and hope that a new restaurant will open up soon." [Facebook]
