CHICAGO—Despite the shuttering of Bel 50, waffle sandwiches are alive and well in Chicago. Starting today, the Indiana-based Carbon's Kitchen food truck is roaming the local streets all summer serving a variety of breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert waffle sandwiches. [EaterWire]

LINCOLN PARK—Homeslice, the recently-opened pizza spot on Webster, is getting creative with their weekend brunch service that's launching tomorrow. They'll serve cold pizza, "Hangover Cereal" (with RumChata and Fireball whiskey), breakfast calzones, plus the regular menu at all times. [EaterWire]
