Polanco Grand Opening Sunday; Chez Simo Bistro Coming to Ravenswood; More

LOGAN SQUARE—Polanco, the latino steakhouse from veteran chef Cesar Reyes, has been softly open for a week but is holding grand opening ceremonies on Sunday, which is conveniently Cinco de Mayo too. They're serving prime rib tacos and bottomless house margaritas for $20 a head, as well as a host of $5 drink specials. [EaterWire]

RAVENSWOOD—Chez Simo Bistro is opening up a French themed restaurant in the former home of Cinnamon Cafe on 1968 W. Lawrence. Three other concepts recently went under in the location. [Patch]

NAVY PIER—Early bird tickets are now available for the upcoming Chicago Fine Chocolate & Dessert Show at Navy Pier for $15. This year's show takes place over a whole weekend (October 18-20) and features a slew of demonstrations, seminars, chocolate art galleries, a 1,000 pound chocolate life-size replica of the Blues Brothers, and of course chocolate tastings.
