The Congress Theater has lost its liquor and business licenses after the city revoked them. Owner Eddie Carranza says he will appeal, and the venue can stay open during that process. Carranza also had his liquor license application for the Portage Theater denied by the city and the venue was subsequently shut down. There's no word yet on how these developments will affect plans for a new restaurant and brewpub in the Portage space or Nick Lacasse's plans to open a deli, cafe, and grocery with Carranza.
