Memorial Day weekend is approaching and many people are finalizing summer vacation plans. With that in mind, it's time to re-run the Airport Dining Guides so you don't have to go hungry while being stuck waiting for your flight.
Midway International Airport may be the city's second airport but it has more than its fair share of quality dining options. So if you need to kill some time before boarding or just want a quick, satisfying meal, check out the guide to see the spots Eater recommends, many of which are outposts of local Chicago eateries. Because after all, who wouldn't rather have a Manny's sandwich over anything served on board of a plane?
Best Dining Options at Midway Airport
1) Manny's: One of Chicago's longest-running and most-revered deli's, Manny's, has an airport outpost. Manny's at Midway offers favorite selections like the piled-high corned beef, peppered pastrami, turkey and brisket sandwiches. Maybe get some cole slaw or potato salad, but don't even think about missing one of their famous potato pancakes with apple sauce and sour cream. [Concourse A]

2) Potbelly Sandwich Shop: What started as a small shop in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood has spawned a 15-state wholesome old school-feeling sandwich chain. Stop in to Potbelly for a breakfast sammie or steel-cut oatmeal starting at 5 a.m. or get a fresh made-to-order sandwich on an oven-toasted roll. It may be a chain, but it certainly doesn't feel like it. [Midway Triangle Food Court]

3) Pegasus on the Fly: Chicago is serious about its Greek food and Pegasus is one of the cornerstones of the city's Greek Town, as is its sister spot Artopolis Cafe, both of which provide inspiration for the menu here. Grab a spinach and feta pie, gyros, chicken kabob, classic Greek salad and more. Breakfast served, too. [Midway Triangle Food Court]

4) Harry Caray's Seventh Inning Stretch: As Midway's flagship and only full-service restaurant, this spot named for the legendary Cubs announcer offers steaks, seafood, hearty Italian dishes, Italian beef, soups, salads, burgers and more. And yes, there's a full bar and breakfast is served. [Midway Triangle Food Court]

5) Lalo's: If you want a burrito or tacos, come to Lalo's, which has a few spots around the city. The menu also features enchiladas, fajitas, chimichangas, pollo con mole and even a tilapia filet. Just don't forget you're about to get on a plane. With other people. [Midway Triangle Food Court]

6) Gold Coast Dogs: Looking for an authentic Chicago hot dog? You just found it. Don't worry about the whole "no ketchup on a hot dog" rule, but know you may get a few harsh stares from some folks. [Midway Triangle Food Court]

7) Reilly's Daughter: Chicago is full of authentic Irish bars so why should Midway be any different? Tucked away from the bustle, the space features brass railings and a beautiful etched wood bar with a built-in clock so you won't miss your flight. Belly up for some Jameson, Guinness, Smithwick's or a breakfast Bloody. The incredibly friendly bartenders have even been known to pour your drink into a "to go" cup. [Midway Triangle Food Court]

2) Nuts on Clark: Pick up assorted nuts, caramel corn, cheese popcorn, chocolate-covered prezels and more from this Chicago-based store. [Midway Triangle Food Court]
3) Ben & Jerry's: It's Ben & Jerry's. Need we say more? [Midway Triangle Food Court]
