RIVER NORTH—Lisa Bonjour is the new mk pastry chef, taking over for the departed Stephanie Mazzone. Bonjour, a veteran from Quince, BOKA, and Epic, is changing over the dessert menu. LINCOLN PARK—The first Smashburger in the city is opening on May 29 at 2031 N. Clybourn. In addition to their usual offerings, there will also be a "Windy City burger" and a "Windy City Smashchicken sandwich" on the menu. [EaterWire]
CHINATOWN—Chinatown Cafe, a 30-year-old unassuming Chinese and American joint, is closing in two days. Look for farewell parties at 2604 S. Wentworth. [Zagat]
