Cocktail connoisseurs get ready! No date has been announced, but in the next week or so Matthew Lipsky, the mixologist behind the tiny and mysterious Charcoal Bar (the exclusive lounge that exists below Sumi Robata Bar) will be launching a Spring and Summer cocktail menu. Fans of the previous menu shouldn't worry: Many drinks will still feature the impossibly perfect, hand-carved ice. (And they've always been willing to make off-menu items.)
The only confirmed new libation is a sweet and savory Strawberry Gazpacho. This intriguing offering will be more or less what it sounds like—Lipsky takes some housemade gazpacho (made with strawberries and more traditional gazpacho ingredients, such as cucumber, yellow pepper, sherry vinegar, etc.) and mixes it with gin, lemon, and simple syrup. Might not be everyone's cup of tea, but it sure sounds summery!
