Ferris & Jack Replacing C-House on May 1

New, 4 comments

When C-House shuttered in January, the word was that a renovation would bring a new multi-faceted concept to the MileNorth Hotel. Now the announcement is here. Ferris & Jack (named for Chicago inventions the Ferris Wheel and Cracker Jack) is the name, and it will house a casual restaurant, marketplace with barista, and lobby bar. Look for many odes to classic Chicago.

The restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, seat 60 plus an outdoor patio, with a "Ferris wheel-inspired sliding glass door" to create a private dining area. Food items will include a sausage trio, Chicago-style hot dog, and beer flight pairing with Goose Island, Bell's Oberon and Wizen Barn Biere. The marketplace will have a Starbucks barista, to-go food (including picnic baskets), and public bookshelves. The bar will serve small plates, local beers, and cocktails like the "Wrigley" and "Streeter."

The renovated space is designed by Gettys and features "subtle nods to the famed Chicago skyline." The website sums up the concept as being "in contrast with the endless stream of hipper-than-thou, new-restaurant-of-the-month alternatives." Look for the throwback hotel theme to open May 1.
