Saigon Sisters Launching Homemade Sriracha

New, 1 comment

The continuing sriracha obsession is reaching new levels. Saigon Sisters, the Vietnamese spot on Lake (and in the French Market) has masterminded their own recipe for the Asian chili sauce and bottled it, going on sale Saturday during the Pastoral Artisan Fair in the French Market. The uber-popular condiment, traditionally consisting of chiles, vinegar, garlic, salt and sugar, has been attempted by many home chefs but not many restaurants.

Saigon Sisters' version is named T-Racha! and uses fresh Thai red chiles and "special seasonings," serving it in a squeezable four-ounce bottle. The owners' childhood love for the Tyrannosaurus Rex inspired the name and logo.

Saigon Sisters will also be featured on an episode of the Food Network's Sandwich King on Sunday at 10 a.m. The Pastoral Artisan Fair is Saturday from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.
