Al fresco season is (hopefully) right around the corner, with many restaurants and bars around the city gearing up their construction to add their sidewalk seating and rooftop perches. At deca Restaurant + Bar, inside the Ritz-Carlton Chicago, they're adding a brand new one to the mix. It'll be called The dec and open next month, weather permitting.
Located adjacent to deca Restaurant + Bar on the 12th floor, The dec will hold 100 people and have 57 seats. Menus are still under construction but they'll serve a light lunch menu and bites and snacks at dinner, in addition to craft cocktails, local beer, wine and champagne. An interesting feature is a roving specially-designed old-fashioned ice cream cart serving sundaes by pastry chef Eric Estrella.
Design features, by San Francisco-based BraytonHughes Design Studios, include a "color-changing LED waved wall." A reflective stainless steel art piece, "The Lenz," will add to the views.
Look for the space to open sometime next month, or whenever the weather breaks for good.
