David Burke Opening Sandwich Spot in James Hotel

Yesterday word broke that David Burke is expanding Primehouse. Today word is breaking that Burke has finalized plans on a new concept alongside Primehouse. Buildout is underway on a David Burke sandwich concept in the old Jbar space at 610 N. Rush, giving Rush Street drinkers and diners a munchie option, hotel guests and neighborhood residents a casual eatery.

Burke was in town last week finalizing the deal for the unnamed concept. He and Primehouse executive chef Rick Gresh are working together on the menu, which will have hand-held mini-sandwiches. Mini-sandwiches are officially a trend, as Duran European Sandwiches & Café started serving theirs in West Town on March 13 and currently offer 20 options.

It'll be interesting to see what sandwich options a renowned chef like Burke has up his sleeve. The opening is slated for mid-summer.
