Now that Evanston is no longer dry, the new concepts are pouring in. Continuing the vitalization is a restaurant and microbrewery on Howard Street, titled Peckish Pig, currently slated for a winter opening. The project is from Jamie and Debbie Evans, former partners in The Celtic Knot.
According to a layout plan published on Evanston Patch, the project will also feature an outdoor patio. They've signed on a brewer for craft beer to be brewed on-site. The food will be farm-to-table-focused, including a signature fried ham hock with salted caramel sauce; tuna wellington with honey sesame dressing; smoked cheddar mac and cheese with duck confit; and kimchi potato cakes with plum sauce.
Ward 8 recently opened up the street and Peckish Order is part of the project to revitalize the corridor. Farmhouse is opening a new restaurant in Evanston, Coast Sushi & Sashimi have an Evanston expansion coming, and World of Beer and Found are recent openings as well. Evanstonians have a lot to look forward to.
