Wicker Park can add one more to its growing list of restaurants, as Takito Kitchen opens its doors this evening. The Mexican-inspired restaurant from executive chef David Dworshak (Carnivale) and beverage director Adam Weber (Mercadito, Trencherman) serves up a menu full of shared items with a focus on tacos. Try the lamb chorizo tacos made with Brunkow cheese, tomatillo pistachio salsa and jicama escabeche or the Maple Creek farms pork belly tacos in a sesame tortilla with morita salsa, fresh mozzarella, pickled onions and Urban Till arugula.

Three varieties of house made salsa are available served with mesa crackers, as well as unique sides like the adult fruit cup, a spiked version of a childhood favorite.

There are plenty of cocktails to compliment the food, including the ¿Porqué No? with lemon, blueberry, peach and mezcal as well as the refreshing cucumber margarita.
