Pitchfork Producer Mike Reed Opening Performance Art Venue and Bar

New, 1 comment

Since 2008 the Reed family has operated The Rice Table adding an authentic taste of Indonesian food to the restaurant scene. Mike Reed, the veritable Chicago drummer and music booker for the Pitchfork, Umbrella, and Chicago Jazz festivals is, along with brother Mike, is planning on opening Constellation Arts. Buildout is taking place, as is a bar and menu coordinated by brother and Rice Table operator, Chris. When reached by phone Chris said menu and other details will be, "figured out in the next couple of weeks."

Constellation Arts will occupy the former Viaduct Theatre space at 3111 N. Western Avenue. Updated sound and amenities along with new food and beverage menu should make this an immediate go to spot for music, food and jazz in Chicago.

There's no set date for opening but an April 19 booking includes one of the premier figures of Chicago and avant-garde jazz scene, Roscoe Mitchell, along with the Mike Reed Duo. A night sure to anticipated for the palate and the ears.
