Kuma's Too Opening February 13

New, 3 comments

Kuma's Too is almost ready to go. Opening February 13, the upscale version of Kuma's Corner on 666 W. Diversey is decked out with a new orange paint job and classic Judas Priest, Ted Nugent, and Slayer concert posters. "We put up anything we could find," owner Mike Cain says.

Luke Tobias, previously the chef at Kuma's Corner, has been promoted to Director of Operations and oversees both restaurants. Tony Lomanto will run the kitchen at Kuma's Too, while Michael Jarvis takes over behind the line at the original Kuma's Corner.

As previously reported, the menu is exactly the same as the original Kuma's, including whiskey on tap. The interior is much more modern and bright than the original Kuma's but more subdued than The Counter was, which occupied the space immediately before. A friends-and-family dinner will immediately proceed the opening, than they'll open the doors to the Lakeview and Lincoln Park clienteles. More to come next week.
