Not many things warm the soul on a chilly winter weekend than a hearty (and maybe boozy) brunch. With that in mind, Little Market Brasserie and The Monarch, two of the bigger openings in recent months, are adding weekend brunch service to their menu dossiers. Here's what and when they're offering it.
At Mercadito Hospitality's Gold Coast eatery Little Market Brasserie, chef Ryan Poli is rolling out brunch service Saturdays and Sundays from 6:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. The menu includes dishes like biscuits and gravy with a fried egg ($12.50), and all-day grilled cheese with fried egg, cheddar, bacon, avocado and sriracha sauce ($12.50). The Tippling Bros are anteing two new cocktails too: A market bloody mary ($8) and the Morning Monkey (gin, herb saint, celery, green apple and lemon ($9).
At Andrew Brochu's The Monarch (1745 W. North), there's Sunday brunch from 10:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. Check out the fois gras mousse with strawberry jam and toast ($13); duck confit chilaquiles with egg, salsa and queso fresco ($14); and king crab benedict with an English muffin and hollandaise ($16). They're offering day cocktails too, such as their take on a bloody mary, Vlad The Impaler (house-infused black pepper vodka, bloody mary mix and Hungarian pickles, $11) and the Queen Bee (barenjager honey liquor, hot chamomile tea, Jim Beam, $11).
