Don Sritong's beverage-pairing restaurant, Coppervine, is up and running. Designer 555 International used the feeling of being in a wine cave as inspiration, buoyed by the long and narrow (60 by 15 ft.) former Boston Blackies space. Clean lines, mirrors and an arched first floor ceiling decorated with a 60 foot copper vine add to the theme. Booths and high-tops add up to 64 seats, plus nine at the bar and a six-top "king's table" in a rear alcove.
A twisting staircase leads to the second floor, where a small four-person bar greets you. A private dining room and second kitchen are up there, plus a white-couch-filled lounge overlooking Halsted Street.
