A Taproom Opens in Evanston; Another Meli Cafe Open

EVANSTON—Temperance Beer Company, Evanston's first craft brewery, is unveiling their taproom tonight at 7:30. The 2,000 square-foot space holds 56 seats; six of their beers will be on tap and four local vendors are providing snacks. Owner Josh Gilbert is planning to open a beer garden on site in the spring. SOUTH LOOP—The third Meli Cafe is now open in the former Custom House space in the Blake Hotel at 500 S. Dearborn. Many of the breakfast, lunch, and Greek favorites as the two original locations in Greektown and River North. [Sloopin]
