Another restaurateur has already latched onto The Tasting Room space on the west end of Randolph Row who will be opening a far different concept, Crain's reports. While The Tasting Room focused on an extensive wine selection and small plates, the ownership behind Paddy Long's will be bringing plenty of pork and beer to the location with a restaurant named Kaiser Tiger.
Paddy Long's, the Irish pub concept on Diversey, may be best known for its beer and bacon pairings. The new restaurant will have a larger kitchen with which to cook up pig products for West Loop clientele.
The Tasting Room served wine for more than a decade in the space before shuttering on Nov. 16. Ownership hopes to open Kaiser Tiger in the spring.
