Athena owner Nick Tsoukalas has opened the doors to his dining and late-night spot, Bellwether, his second recent opening (Vinyl) outside of Greektown. His team has given the old P.J. Clarke's space a makeover, opening up the layout but keeping the balcony. The interior holds about 200 seats.
Former Leopold chef Jeffrey Hedin has written the first seasonal contemporary American dinner menu, which features a selection of raw seafood, appetizers (pork belly with oysters and kimchi; celery root agnolotti with black truffle and swiss chard), and large plates like burgers, sandwiches, pastas, seafood, and steaks.
At this point Bellwether is open for dinner only, while the bar is open late (4 a.m.). Expect lunch service to begin soon.
