Tony "little" D'Alessandro and Gary "BIG" Strauss will open their second BIG & little's location in Lakeview in the new year. D'Alessandro promises that the best items from their River North fast-casual restaurant will be there. They will open in the former Indie Burger spot, which closed last month.
Current BIG & little chef Brandon Nequist, who has been with the organization for over three and a half years, will be running the shop at the Lakeview location. D'Alessandro says that he'll be the eyes, arms and ears for he and Strauss when they're not on site. D'Alessandro also noted that, because the rent for the new location will be cheaper, so will their prices.
Seated on the corner of Belmont and Kenmore, the Lakeview shop will be BYOB and feature outdoor seating in warmer weather. Strauss says, "We want to make it so if people are walking by it will not be a question (of stopping in)."
Both D'Alessandro and Strauss are hoping that this second location leads to a BIG & little's expansion. "This could be the spot where it could be multiplied," D'Alessandro states, adding that it's "taken almost four years to get to this point."
