After opening just over a year ago, The Haute & the Dog, the Wicker Park gourmet sausage joint, has shuttered.
The first news of the upscale hot dog stand's decision to close came when they pulled out of last weekend's Sidewalk Food Tours of Chicago's weekly Wicker Park excursion late last week.
When reached for comment Sunday evening, owner Dion Antic stated that they will move towards being "catering only." Yesterday afternoon, 312 Dining Diva posted a statement from Antic where he confirmed that the store's last day was this past Sunday and reiterated a move to catering, along with some new information.
Antic states that the owners are in talks to license the brand in San Antonio and Oklahoma City and that there is a possibility of one or two locations popping up in the suburbs. There is no word on what will replace the space at this time.
