Unite Urban Grill Opens in West Town Tonight

Unite Urban Grill, the restaurant from husband and wife team Joe and Megan Krouse and chef Bradford Phillips (Pump Room), debuts tonight in the former Leopold space on Chicago Avenue. Joe Krouse describes the concept as accessible and eclectic, uniting the mix of his love of grilled meats and his wife's love of healthy foods. The dinner menu runs the gamut from steaks to quinoa; short rib sliders to carrot fries.

Jason Lane has come over from BellyQ to be GM and design the beverage program. 10 drinks fill out the specialty cocktail menu, each named for different neighborhoods (uniting the city, if you will). The affordable wine list spans many regions of the globe; beers are craft.

The space holds 83 seats, including a 13-seat wraparound bar, a rear dining room, and front banquettes. Front windows will open onto a patio in the warm months. With the design, the Krouses are trying to straddle the line between "modern" and "homey."

Dinner service kicks off tonight; Sunday brunch begins November 24.
