Save the Dates: Eataly Opening November 22 or 29

The countdown is officially underway. During a public chat with Mayor Emanuel yesterday for Chicago Ideas Week, celebrity chef, restaurateur, and TV personality Mario Batali revealed the opening date for Eataly, his upcoming land of magic and pasta—either November 22 or 29. Apparently the mayor accelerated the opening.

Eataly, which Batali described as "a great little Italian town in the middle of Chicago that has great gelato," will house eight restaurants, groceries, a beer garden, and more when it opens. Look for much more coverage before then.
