Embeya's Guest Chef Soup Series; Takito's Fall/Late Night Menus; More

WEST LOOP—Starting October 28, Embeya will begin their Monday Night Guest Chef Soup Series with Mark Steuer of Carriage House (which, like Embeya, was recently named one of the "20 Best New Restaurants" by Esquire Magazine). Future participants will include chefs Lee Wolen (The Lobby), Kevin Hickey, Curtis Duffy (Grace) and Sarah Grueneberg (Spiaggia). [EaterWire]

WICKER PARK—Takito Kitchen have rolled out their new fall menu featuring items such as roasted winter squash, Alaskan king crab tacos, and sofrito shrimp. Their new late night menu, available Fridays and Saturdays from 11 p.m. until 2 a.m., will debut, oddly, on Halloween (Thursday, October 31). [EaterWire]

LINCOLN PARK—Geja's Cafe will host the 40th annual professional/amateur wine tasting contest on Sunday, November 3 at 1 p.m. $20 gets you in the door (if you're 21 or older) and participants will be "challenged to identify the grape, place of origin and vintage of each wine." SOUTH LOOP—De Cecco pasta is commemorating their gold medal win at the 1893 Chicago World Fair at the debut of the Chicago Field Museum's new exhibition Opening the Vaults: Wonders of the 1893 World Fair.
