Staffing Changes at The Purple Pig, Vivo, The Drawing Room, and More

RIVER NORTH—Liz Martinez (Topolobampo, The Florentine) is the new sommelier and manager of The Purple Pig. The Denver native is expanding glass pours as well as increasing the under-$40 bottle options at Jimmy Bannos Jr.'s downtown powerhouse. Her wine list focuses on Italian red, Greek, and Croatian options. [EaterWire]

WEST LOOP—Vivo, a Randolph Row Italian staple since 1991, has a new chef: Alessandro Nalbone. Nalbone is a Sicilian native and has been executive chef at two restaurants in Italy, at Nando Milano Trattoria in Wicker Park, and has worked for Kitchensurfing. He replaces Vicente Duran and has launched a new menu. [EaterWire]

GOLD COAST—Cristiana DeLucca, who's been at The Drawing Room since 2008, is vacating the head bartender position Saturday night. DeLucca took over the head spot at the culinary cocktail haven when Charles Joly left for The Aviary. Look for her replacement to be announced soon. [312DD/EaterWire]

WICKER PARK—Nick Ostapczuk (The Drawing Room, Farmhouse, The Anthem) is the new GM at Bangers & Lace, replacing Ronnie Higgins who's now at The Revel Room. Ostapczuk has implemented a fall menu at the Division Street beer and cocktail bar and eatery. [Zagat]

LOOP—Ben Galatz is now the "director of restaurants and nightlife" at theWit hotel and is overseeing the beverage programs and entertainment at State and Lake and Roof. He has installed cocktails on tap and added a sushi bar to the rooftop lounge. [EaterWire]
