Chef Nobu Matsuhisa confirmed that a Chicago branch of his eponymously named hotel and restaurant, Nobu, is on track to open in 2014. Tweeted by Steve Dolinsky last night from an event in Las Vegas, Matsuhisa stated that when the hotel opens "there'll be a restaurant inside."
Matsuhisa formed a friendship and business relationship with the actor Robert De Niro in 1993 that has led to the expansion of the Nobu brand globally. This relationship has helped to make Nobu locations a beacon for celebrities. Among the most vocal, broadcasting legend Howard Stern has trumpeted his love for Nobu in New York over the years via his radio show. It's hard to doubt that Chicago's Nobu will draw quite the crowd next year.
