Flour & Stone Softly Opening February 4

The food and drink options in Streeterville are getting more diversified and locally-owned very rapidly. With Dollop Coffee and Tea finally open today after a fire, Flour & Stone, the Brooklyn-style pizzeria on Ohio Street, is set to open early next month. Owner Chris Murphy is looking to finally welcome pizza fanatics to his artisan eatery after the Harbaugh vs. Harbaugh Super Bowl matchup a week from Sunday.

The decor is set to go, a rustic wooden and exposed-brick look mixed with industrial accents by Lettuce Entertain You interior designer Martin Lescht. A metal staircase leads up to cozy mezzanine seating illuminated by rows of track lighting. They'll serve up whole handmade Neapolitan pies in one 13" size, no slices. They're looking at a beer and wine program in the near future.

At a tasting, they asked people "who else in Chicago makes pizza like this." No one could name one. Show up a week from Monday for a chance to compare.
