The views from the Rebar at the Trump are some of the best in the city, but actually being able to grab a seat has been pretty tough, until now. Rebar just completed a 1,500 square foot expansion with seating wrapping around the facade of the building, and views of the Chicago River from every angle. The newly expanded space now has seating for 46 comfortably, including 18 window seats for prime viewing. The interior has been refreshed as well with the addition of a corner bar and plush oversized chairs and banquettes. "The response has been amazing to the new space, says Rebar manager Michael Koury, "It's refreshing to finally be able to accommodate all our guests."
The current menu focuses on New Japanese cuisine, with a selection of sushi and sashimi, amongst other Japanese dishes. Signature cocktails like the Red Dragon, a spicy blend of jalapeno infused chopin and fresh raspberry puree, accented with fresh lime, are available, in addition to fifteen choices of sake and a wine list focused on sparkling selections.
Come spring, expect Rebar to launch a new, expanded sushi program that will focus on layering of flavors and elements of the spring season. Cocktails will go along with that as the warmer weather will allow mixologists to move towards a brighter palate with the inclusion of various herbs, and lots of green and yellow elements adding vibrant colors to the drinks.
Rebar is open Monday through Wednesday from 4 p.m. to midnight; Thursday and Friday from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m.; Saturday from 3 p.m. to 1 a.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to midnight.
